I started my professional life as a research psychologist (not the "do you love your mother" kind). I enjoyed research and teaching, but noticed that I spent most of my non-classroom time writing and editing, often to help other people.

When I left academia,  all the "you should be a writer" admonitions followed me to job interviews. I've been squeezing in part-time writing and editing jobs for about 9 years, so now I am happily doing it full time.

Southport’s Pequot Library Displays Christopher Columbus Letters SOUTHPORT, Conn. – Pequot Library’s newest exhibit in the “Pages from Pequot” series is “Exploring America: Christopher Columbus.” It is on display through Jan. 15 in the rare book cases in Pequot Library’s Reading Room. On display will be primary source material dating from 1493 – early 1900s.
