Westport Police: Failure To Stop At Red Light Leads To Drunk Driving Charge WESTPORT, Conn. -- A Norwalk man who failed to stop at a red light Friday night was arrested on a drunken driving charge, Westport Police said. Police: Man Hurt After Hitting Trooper's Cruiser On Route 7 In Brookfield BROOKFIELD, Conn. — A Danbury man slammed into a parked State Police cruiser on northbound Route 7 near Exit 12 in Brookfield around 8 a.m. Monday, sending him and a trooper to the hospital and leaving the cruiser and his Jeep severely damaged, state police said. Two Bridgeport Men Charged In Stamford Smash And Grabs STAMFORD, Conn., -- Two Bridgeport men already facing charges in other break-ins in Fairfield County are facing more charges in connection with the break-ins at a pair of city restaurants last month. 19-Year-Old In Critical Condition After Shooting In Stamford Bodega STAMFORD, Conn. -- A 19-year-old is fighting for his life after he was shot in the head at close range Thursday night at a Stamford bodega, police said Friday. Bridgeport Police Arrest Two On Murder Charges In Separate Shootings BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Two people are facing murder charges in connection with shootings that claimed the lives of a pair of Bridgeport residents. Richard Lopez, 25, has been charged with murder, felony murder and first-degree robbery in the death of Noel Esbri, 33, who was shot to death inside an apartment at 360 Palisades Ave., on Dec. 15. Former NBC Sports Mailroom Manager Charged With Stealing Laptops STAMFORD, Conn. -- A former contract mailroom manager at NBC Sports Group's Stamford headquarters delivered laptops to himself, said police who charged him with larceny. Larry Schmidt, 49, of Webster, Texas, was charged with third-degree larceny and held for a court appearance on Wednesday. Bridgeport Man Facing Drug Charges In Norwalk NORWALK, Conn. -- A Bridgeport man who was on the Norwalk Police radar in an investigation that began in September was arrested Tuesday. Charged with two counts each of possession of narcotics, sale of narcotics and one count each of sale or posses narcotics near a school and illegal possession near a school is Timothy Spruill, 55, of 370 Benham Ave., Bridgeport.
