FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. Platform tennis players from Fairfield County whacked balls and slammed serves at courts throughout the region Saturday in the season-ending Paul Fowler Invitational.
Max LePivert and Stamfords Ken Dardis, who played out of Stanwich in Greenwich, won their second straight championship in Division 1. There were seven divisions, with 16 two-player teams in each division.
The finals of the Fairfield County Platform Tennis League were held at the Country Club of New Canaan and the New Canaan Field Club. Matches were also played at Woodway Country Club, the Country Club of Darien, Wee Burn Country Club, Greenwich Field Club, Middlesex Club, Stanwich Club, the Lake Club, Round Hill Club, Waveny Lodge, Wilton YMCA and Rowayton Paddle Club.
