A Fairfield County man was injured after being struck by a police vehicle in front of a local department's headquarters.

The incident took place in New Canaan around 9 p.m., Monday, June 27 in front of the New Canaan Police Department at 156 South Ave.

The New Canaan Police vehicle was exiting the parking lot of 156 South Ave., to turn right onto South Avenue to head north, said Lt. Jason Ferraro, of the New Canaan Police.

He was transported to Norwalk Hospital for further evaluation and treatment by New Canaan EMS, police said

At this time this incident is under investigation and no additional information will be released, Ferraro said.
