New Canaan Police say Edwin Pozo-Carabajo, 29, of Guilford was arrested on Sunday, Oct. 6 on an active warrant.
According to police, Pozo-Carabajo was driving northbound on Smith Ridge Road when he swerved into the southbound lane and struck a motorist traveling southbound on Smith Ridge Road on May 17, 2018.
Police say Pozo-Carabajo stated during the initial investigation that he may have fallen asleep while driving and did not recall the crash.
An arrest warrant was obtained as a result of the investigation, and Pozo-Carabajo was taken into custody by Connecticut State Police. He was charged with reckless driving and failure to drive on right.
Pozo-Carabajo was released after posting a $500 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Friday, Oct. 18.
