New Canaan Man, 43, Dies In Snowboarding Accident In California

NEW CANAAN, Conn. — A 43-year-old man from New Canaan died in a snowboarding accident last week at Northstar California Resort in the Lake Tahoe area, KTVN-TV said.

The snowboarder, identified as Michael North, was a guest at the resort, KTVN-TV said. He was found unresponsive in a tree well and pronounced dead at the scene, KTVN-TV said. There were no witnesses to the accident on the resort's advanced terrain, KTVN-TV said.

"Northstar, Northstar Ski Patrol and the entire Vail Resorts family extend our deepest sympathy and support to our guest's family and friends," said Nadia Guerriero, vice president and general manager of Northstar California.
