The event kicks off at noon with families gathering in the Park Street parking lot to receive goodie bags (while supplies last), followed by a 1 p.m. parade, rain or shine.

The School of Rock will serenade parade-goers with Halloween tunes while Toddlertime Nursery School will be hosting the Great Scirico, who will be creating balloon animals for parade-goers.

Start planning your costume now so you can enter the “Best Dressed Family and Pet” contest sponsored by Venture Photography, which has donated a family sitting package to the first-place winner.

The parade will continue to the corner of Park and Elm streets and then proceed down Elm to Main Street and then loop back up Elm Street, which will be closed to vehicular traffic.

This year’s grand marshals are the performers of the New Canaan High School drama production of "Annie Jr." and the New England Academy of Dance Nutcracker characters.
