New York Times Shines Spotlight On Ridgefield, New Canaan Bakeries

NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- The New Yotk Times recently did an article on local bakeries in Conecticut, including Ridgefield's Swoon Bakery and New Canaan's bakery Gingerbitz.

Swoon Bakery in Ridgefield is well known for its tasty gluten-free and nut-free treats. Not only is is known in the Ridgefield community, but it has caught the attention of the New York Times for its boutique pastries in Connecticut.

Swoon is at 109 Danbury Road in The Market at Copps Hill Commons. The bakery is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.

The bakery in New Canaan, Gingerbitz, was opened in May by Karen Zuckert, a self-taught baker who started baking in her Darien home.

The bakery is at 155 Elm St. and is  open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.
