Designed by the Stamford-based Center for Sexual Assault Crisis Counseling and Education and geared toward professionals who work with children in lower Fairfield County, the event is sponsored by New Canaan Community Foundation.

Attendees will learn about new legislation surrounding reporting requirements and mandated reporters, officials said. Also on the agenda will be how to identify, prevent and respond to child sexual abuse.

The workshop aims to arm participants with an overview of information about popular social media and how kids are using it and will help clarify where and how social media, sexual harassment and sexual assault intersect.
