A Superior Court jury has convicted a former town of Fairfield official of illegally receiving and disposing of solid waste without a permit. Chief State’s Attorney Patrick J. Griffin announced on Wednesday, May 3 convicted Scott Bartlett, age 60, of Fairfield, of eight felony counts following a lengthy investigation by Fairfield Police and the State Attorney's Office into illegal dumping on town property. Storm Cleanup Causes Closure At These New London County Schools
Some schools in Connecticut were forced to close on Monday, Jan. 31 as the state continues to clean up from the weekend storm that dumped more than a foot of snow in certain parts of the region. In New London County, which was among the hardest-hit areas in Connecticut, Norwich and Groton Public Schools were closed on Monday to allow the town to continue cleaning up from the storm.
