A Fairfield County woman was charged with criminal mischief for spray painting "Save Gaza" on a crosswalk. The incident occurred in Westport on Thursday, May 23, on the crosswalk at Post Road East in the area of Main Street. According to Lt. Matthew Gouveia of the Westport Police, a Bridgeport resident identified as Katerina Hasiotis inked the words, which caused damage and resulted in temporary repairs being made. Security cameras were rolling when two masked thieves ran into a Connecticut jewelry store and smashed their way into glass display cases. The Fairfield County incident happened shortly after 3 p.m. Thursday, May 9, in Westport at the Lux, Bond, and Green shop on Main Street. Police in Fairfield County are asking the public for help identifying a man wanted in connection with two toy store larcenies. The incidents took place in Westport on Monday, Aug. 7, and Friday, Aug. 11, at Awesome Toys at 429 Post Road East (Route 1). According to Lt. Eric Woods of the Westport Police, a white Hispanic man entered the store around 4:45 p.m. and stole a “Traxxas” truck and art supplies. Surveillance footage led to the arrest of a man for allegedly helping steal more than $25,000 in goods from a Fairfield County Ulta Beauty store in seven incidents. A Fairfield County man has been charged with allegedly stealing a credit card from a business and then using it to charge more than $1.5K in goods. The theft took place in Westport in July 2021 from a business located on Post Road East. A Fairfield County woman has been charged with allegedly stealing several bushes from the front of a home and dragging them to her apartment. During the early morning hours of Thursday, Oct. 28, several decorative shrubs were dug up and then stolen from the property at 1141 Post Road East, in Westport, police said.
