Support Swells For 29-Year-Old CT Heart Transplant Recipient A community in Fairfield County is coming together to support the family of a 29-year-old heart transplant recipient as he recovers from his surgery.  Stamford resident Mateo Gallego, age 29, became the recipient of a new heart after experiencing chest pain on Monday, May 15. When his condition began rapidly deteriorating, he was taken to Stamford Hospital before he was transferred to Yale Hospital.  There, he was admitted for an unexpected heart transplant after he was diagnosed with heart failure, according to his father, Jorge Gallego, who began a GoFundMe fundraiser page …

Boy Born In CT Who Died After Falling Through Ice Remembered For 'Amazing Smile' A teen who died after falling through the ice at a park in the Hudson Valley is being remembered for his "amazing smile," and " infectious laughter." Dutchess County resident Noah Michael Thompson, age 17, of Amenia, died Friday, Feb. 10, at Sharon Hospital in Litchfield County, Connecticut, after falling through the ice at the Taconic State Park in the village of Millerton, located in the Town of North East.  Noah was a high school student at Webutuck High School in Amenia and was expecting to graduate this spring, according to his obituary.
