CT Teacher Charged With Sexual Assault Of Student For Second Time A music teacher has been charged with alleged sexual assault of a minor student in Northern Fairfield County. Richard Neal, age 69, of Newtown, was charged on Thursday, Jan. 4 by the Newtown Police Department. According to Det. Lt. Liam Seabrook of the Newtown Police, Neal was arrested following an investigation into having an inappropriate relationship who was a minor at the time. Woman Shoots Victim, Barricades Herself Inside CT Residence On Christmas Eve, Police Say A woman has been apprehended after police say she shot a victim and then barricaded herself inside a Connecticut residence on Christmas Eve. The chain of events began to unfold in northern Fairfield County around 7:50 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 24 in Newtown. Newtown Police Department officers responded to the residence on Boggs Hill Road for a dispute.  Upon arrival, the caller was located on the front porch of the residence with multiple gunshot wounds, the department said.  Officers were able to pull the victim to safety as the suspect retreated into the residence. …

CT Man Charged With Sexual Assault, Police Say Following a months-long investigation, a Fairfield County man has been arrested for an alleged sexual assault. Shawn Santoro, age 33, of Trumbull, was arrested on Friday, Jan. 14 by the Newtown Police and charged with one count of sexual assault. According to police, the arrest was the culmination of a several month-long investigation by the Newtown Police Department's Patrol Division, and Detective Bureau, into a reported sexual assault, the department said.  Santoro was released on a $100,000 surety bond.
