New England Native Matthew Perry Dies: Star of 'Friends,' Films New England's own Matthew Perry, best known as the sarcastic, spastic, and overly-dramatic Chandler Bing on "Friends," died unexpectedly at his Los Angeles home on Saturday, Oct. 28, multiple outlets reported.  The Berkshire County native was just 54 years old.  Police were called to his home around 4 p.m. and found him unresponsive in his hot tub.
