2.2 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Downstate NY An overnight earthquake startled some residents and shook buildings in Westchester. The United States Geological Survey said it had a magnitude of 2.2, was centered near the border of Hastings-on-Hudson and Yonkers, about 18 miles north of midtown Manhattan, and was felt at around 1:53 a.m. Friday, May 19. An interactive map of the quake by the USGS is available here and in the image above. There have not been any reports of injuries or damage. The USGS received a report of someone feeling the quake as far away as Northern Fairfield County, Connecticut, in the city of Danbury. …

Duo Lead Police On Multi-State Chase In Stolen Vehicle Starting In CT: Police Two men face charges after stealing a vehicle and leading authorities on a multi-state chase that started in Fairfield County and finally ended in Westchester, police said.  The incident started on Wednesday, March 22 around 6 p.m., when police in Stamford tried stopping a 2019 Range Rover that was stolen from Florham Park, New Jersey, according to Westchester County Police Spokesman Kieran O'Leary.  The vehicle then fled from authorities on Interstate 95 and crossed the border into Westchester, where Stamford Police ended their chase.  From there, the stolen …

New England Native Known As 'Caring, Kind' Doctor In New York Dies At Age 55 A New York doctor and Massachusetts native who died at the age of 55 is being remembered for his kindness toward others. Westchester County resident Anthony Francis Korosi, of Hastings-on-Hudson, died peacefully on Monday, Sept. 19, according to his obituary. Korosi was born in Boston and attended the Roxbury Latin School. He went on to receive a bachelor's degree from Cornell University and went to medical school at the University of Pittsburgh.
