Amazon Plans To Lay Off Around 10,000 Employees, Report Says
A week before the holiday shopping season officially kicks off, Amazon is set to begin laying off approximately 10,000 corporate and technology employees, The New York Times reports.
Job cuts at the online retail giant were expected to start the week of Monday, Nov. 14, and will primarily affect Amazon’s retail, devices, and human resources divisions, according to the outlet.
The largest in its history, the layoffs would impact 1 percent of the company’s global workforce and 3 percent of its corporate employees.

These Zip Codes In Northeast Among Top 10 Most Expensive In US, New Report Says
Four zip codes in the Northeast rank in the Top 10 for most expensive in the United States, according to a brand-new report.
The rankings, published by CNBC, were determined by median home sale prices.
Three of those four zip codes are on the east end of Long Island, led by No. 2 Sagaponack (11962), which the report says has a median home sale price of $6,972,500, behind only No. 1 Atherton, California (94027), which is $9 million.

Southwest Cancels 1,800-Plus Weekend Flights, Citing Air Traffic Control Issues, Weather
Southwest Airlines has canceled more than 1,800 of its flights this weekend, citing bad weather and air traffic control issues.
According to a report from CNBC, the airline canceled 1,000-plus flights on Sunday, Oct. 10, after canceling 808 on Saturday, Oct. 9.
"ATC issues and disruptive weather have resulted in a high volume of cancellations throughout the weekend while we work to recover our operation," the airline tweeted on Saturday. "We appreciate your patience as we accommodate affected Customers, and Customer Service wait times are longer than usual."
