1 Dead, 1 Critically Injured After CT Apartment Fire Breaks Out One person was killed and another is in critical condition following a fire at a Fairfield County apartment. The fire took place in Bridgeport around 4:20 a.m., Friday, July 14 in the 400 block of Success Ave., Building 43. When Bridgeport firefighters arrived on the scene they found heavy smoke and fire on the first and second floors of the apartment, said Scott Appleby, director of emergency management for Bridgeport. The incident took place in Westport around 6 a.m., Monday, June 5 on Old Hill Road.
