Both people died from severe Vibrio vulnificus infections after contracting the bacteria either by consuming raw shellfish or swimming in brackish water in Long Island Sound, according to the Connecticut Department of Public Health. The incident took place in Hartford County around 10 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 6 in Windsor Locks. CT Man In 'Grave Condition' Following Assault, Police Say An elderly man is in grave condition after being assaulted by a Westchester resident in Fairfield County, authorities said.
