Meriden Police Investigating Assault Of Girl First Reported As Possible Kidnapping Police in Connecticut are investigating after receiving numerous calls of an alleged kidnapping of a girl that turned out to be an assault. The incident occurred in New Haven County around 3 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 22 on Golden Street in Meriden.  According to Lt. Darrin McKay of the Meriden Police, after receiving the calls, officers responded to the area and found an unoccupied vehicle. Officers then went to the address of the car's owner and found a man who said he was involved in the altercation, McKay said. Meriden ATV, Dirtbike Group Suspected Of Reckless Driving Nabbed, Police Say A large group of ATV and dirt bike riders who have allegedly been causing havoc on the highways in a Connecticut city have been nabbed by police. The group has been causing problems over the past six to seven weeks in New Haven County in Meriden, said Lt. Darrin McKay of the Meriden Police.
