Moose Rescued After Getting Stuck On Fence In Connecticut Authorities in Connecticut rescued a moose after the animal became trapped on a fence. Wardens responded to a report of a moose stuck on a fence in the Litchfield County town of Barkhamsted at about midnight on Saturday, Oct. 1, according to Connecticut State Environmental Conservation Police. Officials said the moose was unable to get its back legs over the fence, and the animal's belly stopped it from being able to back up. Two Families Displaced After CT House Fire The American Red Cross is aiding two families in Connecticut after a fast-acting fire tore through a Litchfield County home. First responders were dispatched to a residential fire on Old North Road in Barkhamsted at approximately 2 p.m. on Monday, April 25, according to Connecticut State Police. Upon arrival, officials said that crews found the structure engulfed in flames, which forced a temporary road closure on Old North Road as firefighters battled the blaze. The COVID-19 rate made a lot of moves in individual communities since the state’s last report on Nov. 12. The most recent information from the state’s COVID-19 Tracker says that there are only 19 communities in the state - out of 179 - that have NOT been designated “red” to show where the threat of COVID-19 transmission is highest. Connecticut Leaning Blue, But Here Are The Towns That Voted For Trump As many elections, including the one for president, are still being counted, Connecticut hasn't quite finished tallying all its ballots, but it seems likely the state will remain blue As of Wednesday, Nov. 4, at 8 a.m., 85 percent of the votes for president cast in Connecticut had been counted. As was anticipated, challenger Democrat Joe Biden has the current majority vote for president.
