Overdose Death: CT Man Charged For Providing Drugs, Police Say
A Connecticut man has been charged in connection with an overdose death in which he allegedly provided the drugs.
New London County resident Edward. R. Broyles, age 32, of Stonington, was arrested on Thursday, March 30 in connection with the death of Tyrell Hightower, age 32, said the Connecticut State Police.
Hightower's body was discovered on Thursday, Feb. 2, at the Stonington Institute in the town of North Stonington. Both Broyles and Hightower were at the institute, state police said.

Officials Identify 2 Men Killed In CT Boat Accident
Officials have identified two men who were killed in a boat accident in Connecticut.
Authorities responded to a report of a boat accident in New London County on Saturday, Aug. 20, and found a center console adrift off the Stonington shoreline, a Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) spokesperson said.
Two men, identified as 54-year-old David Motherway, of Stonington, and 52-year-old Brian Collie, of Littleton, Colorado, were pronounced dead at the scene, the DEEP spokesperson reported.

A powerful, fast-moving storm with damaging wind gusts has knocked out power to thousands in Connecticut.
At around 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 17, Eversource is reporting close to 3,000 outages.
The most affected areas are Guilford in New Haven County (496 outages), Stonington in New London County (387), Stamford in Fairfield County (205), Essex in Middlesex County (194), Washington in Litchfield County (164), and Madison in New Haven County (144).

A Connecticut man faces a bigotry charge for allegedly spitting, and yelling racial slurs, over a COVID-19 mask policy at a package store.
Hartford County resident Daniel Henderson, age 57, of Stonington, was arrested on Wednesday, Oct. 27.
According to Lieutenant Keith Egan, of the Stonington Police Department, Henderson had an active warrant stemming from an incident that occurred at Lefty’s Package Store in April.
