New Haven Man, 23, Charged In Mail Theft, Check Fraud Scam In Fairfield County A 23-year-old Connecticut man has been charged in connection with an alleged mail theft/check fraud investigation. Kenyel Ventura-Villa, of New Haven, was arrested on Feb. 29 by warrant where he was alleged to have deposited stolen and forged checks in 2022 into an account belonging to a woman who was also arrested last year, said Lt. Anna Tornello of the Wilton Police.  Ventura-Villa was charged with: Larceny Conspiracy to commit larceny Conspiracy to commit ID theft  He was held on a $100,000 bond.

The incident took place in New Canaan around 7:15 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 13 at the store at 94 Park St. According to Lt. Jason Ferraro of the Canaan Police, store officials reported several individuals had taken a total of $600 worth of goods. The incident took place in Westport on Tuesday, Jan. 11, when police officers responded to a home on Northgate Lane regarding stolen mail.  The complainant told officers that a box of blank checks was stolen. Man Accused Of Stealing $1K Worth Of Items From CT Lowe's Store A Hudson Valley man was arrested and accused of stealing merchandise worth $1,000 from a Connecticut store more than seven years ago. That merchandise was allegedly stolen from Lowe's, located in New Haven County at 311 Old Gate Lane in Milford, in October of 2014, the Milford Police Department said. Dutchess County resident Michael Horowitz, age 30, of Poughkeepsie, was arrested on Friday, March 18, in the incident, police said.  He was charged with fifth-degree larceny and fifth-degree conspiracy to commit larceny, authorities said.
