Police ID Victim Of Fatal Crash Near Park In CT

Police have identified the victim of a fatal single-vehicle crash in Connecticut.

New Haven County resident Kevin Gormley, age 68, of West Haven, was killed around 6:15 p.m., Saturday, March 25 near the entrance to Fort Nathan Hale Park in New Haven.

Arriving officers found the front end of a Toyota Tundra abutted against a wooden guard rail on Woodward Avenue across the street from the entrance to the park, said Capt. Rose Dell, of the New Haven Police.

Firefighters arrived and tended to Gormley, who was pronounced dead on the scene, Dell said.

The New Haven Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Team responded to the scene and is handling the case. Investigators will be analyzing evidence and interviewing witnesses to determine the sequence of events that led to this crash.
