Police have released the identity of a man who was hit and killed by an Amtrak train in Connecticut. Hartford County resident Amani Abele Ashley, age 23, of Bristol, was killed around 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 30 while walking along the train tracks near the intersection of Surrey Lane in Berlin. A man who was killed after being struck by a train in Fairfield County has been identified. Scott James Harrington, age 59, of Riverside, a hamlet of Greenwich, was struck near the Cos Cob station by a New York-bound train around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, confirmed MTA officials. Harrington was reportedly an employee at J.P. Morgan. The train engineer was briefly hospitalized following the incident, officials said. The incident is under investigation by the MTA.

Woman Rescued After Falling Between Train, Platform At CT Train Station
A woman received minor injuries after falling between an MTA train and the platform in Fairfield County. The incident took place in Stamford around 8:10 pm., Tuesday, July 5 at the Springdale Train Station. A Connecticut man was killed after being hit by a train in Fairfield County. The incident place around 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 4 in the vicinity of the Cos Cob station. Killed was Hartford County resident Michael Haden Crouse, age 38, of Newington, said MTA Police Department spokesperson Aaron Donovan. Putnam County resident, Hope Mantovi, age 23, of Mahopac was struck around 8:30 p.m., Saturday, March 19, in Woodlawn in the Bronx, said Metropolitan Transportation Authority officials. A 22-year-old Connecticut woman was hit and killed by an Amtrak train while allegedly "trespassing" on the tracks. Alexandra Trippodo, of Branford, was hit and killed around 1:10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 13 when she was hit on the tracks east of New Haven, said Beth Toll, a spokeswoman for Amtrak. A person was struck by a train overnight in Fairfield County. The incident happened just before 12:50 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 5 in Norwalk at the Catherine Street railroad crossing. The man was found lying alongside the tracks with serious injuries to his right arm and right leg, the Norwalk Fire Department said.
