According to his obituary, Taranto, of Danbury, was a graduate of Ardsley High School and was all-county in football and basketball. He served in the United States Navy from 1963 to 1965. Man Nabbed For Felony DWI, Resisting Arrest In Westchester, State Police Say A Fairfield County man was arrested by New York State Police in Westchester for allegedly driving drunk with a suspended license. Shamek Brown, age 49, of Danbury, was arrested on Wednesday, May 5 around 1:35 a.m., after being stopped on I-87 in Yonkers for a traffic violation, said Trooper Tara McCormick. During the stop, McCormick said officers found that he was intoxicated and was driving with a suspended license. When troopers attempted to take Brown into custody, he resisted arrest. Drunk Driver From Connecticut Crashes In Construction Zone, Police Say A Fairfield County man was arrested for alleged DWI after crashing into the back of a construction vehicle in a work zone in Westchester.  Fabian Madera, age 43, of Shelton, was arrested around 10:20 p.m., Tuesday, March 23, after New York State Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on I-95 in Mamaroneck, said Trooper Tara McCormick. A preliminary investigation revealed that Madera was driving a Toyota Camry northbound, approaching a lane closure in a work zone when he rear-ended a construction vehicle blocking the right lane, McCormick said. The opening starts at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 15.
