An armed teenage man wearing a wig and makeup robbed a high-end jewelry store in Fairfield County of $175,000 in merchandise before being caught by police.
The robbery took place in Greenwich at Tiffany & Co. around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28.
According to Greenwich Police, the man, identified as Edgardo Bautista-Gallardo, age 19, of San Fransico, California, entered the store at 140 Greenwich Ave. and requested to see jewelry from store associates.

CT Man Charged With Child Porn Offenses, Including Possessing Images With Infants
A Fairfield County man is facing charges after investigators found that his laptop contained about 1,000 images depicting the sexual abuse of children, including infants.
Christopher Bates Jr., age 36, of Greenwich, was arrested on a federal complaint charging him with child pornography offenses on Tuesday, Dec. 13, according to Vanessa Roberts Avery, United States attorney for the District of Connecticut.
Investigators found that an IP address at Bates' home was being used to access the dark web to view images that depicted the sexual abuse of children, Roberts Avery reported.

CT Man Robbed Of Electronics During A Distraction-Type Larceny, Police Say
Police are investigating a distraction-type larceny in which a handgun was displayed in Fairfield County.
The incident took place in Greenwich around 12:30 p.m., on Friday, Nov. 25.
According to Greenwich Police, the victim, employed locally, purchased electronics from a downtown business. The victim was followed back to his place of business, where a man identified as Oscar Arce-Runza, age 31, address unavailable, stopped and asked him for directions.

Police in one Fairfield County town are warning parents that more kids are driving electric bikes, scooters, and cycles illegally on roadways.
What most don't realize, police say, is that you have to have a valid driver's license to operate the vehicles on roadways under state law, according to the Greenwich Police Department.
And sidewalks are roadways, police say.
The law defines motor-driven cycles as motor scooters, mopeds, or motorbikes with an engine size of fewer than 50 ccs, and a seat height of at least 26 inches, police said.

Escaped Convict Eludes Capture Again In Fairfield County Chase, Police Say
Police spent hours searching for an escaped convict who was a passenger in an alleged stolen vehicle in Fairfield County.
The incident began around 10:47 a.m., Monday, April 5, when a Greenwich Police detective spotted a suspected stolen vehicle in February from Cos Cos Avenue while on South Beach Avenue, said Greenwich Police Captain Mark Zuccerella.
The detective put out a call to patrol officers who began looking for the vehicle, Zuccerella said.

A 51-year-old man who was arrested in Fairfield County for sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor is back in jail after violating release conditions and following the victim out-of-state.
Keenan Houston, of Brooklyn, New York, was extradited to Greenwich, on Friday, March 5, for violating the conditions of his release in 2014 by following the victim to Ohio and assaulting them again, said Greenwich Police Lt. John Slusarz.
