Moose Rescued After Getting Stuck On Fence In Barkhamsted Authorities in Connecticut rescued a moose after the animal became trapped on a fence. Wardens responded to a report of a moose stuck on a fence in the Litchfield County town of Barkhamsted at about midnight on Saturday, Oct. 1, according to Connecticut State Environmental Conservation Police. Officials said the moose was unable to get its back legs over the fence, and the animal's belly stopped it from being able to back up. First responders were dispatched to a residential fire on Old North Road in Barkhamsted at approximately 2 p.m. on Monday, April 25, according to Connecticut State Police. Upon arrival, officials said that crews found the structure engulfed in flames, which forced a temporary road closure on Old North Road as firefighters battled the blaze.
