Crews Extinguish Blaze At Connecticut Residence Firefighters worked overnight to extinguish a blaze that broke out at a Fairfield County home. Crews responded to a deck fire at a home on Island Way in Westport at about 1:40 a.m. on Monday, July 25, according to the Town of Westport Fire Department. A mutual aid truck company from Norwalk also responded to the scene. Authorities located the fire on an exterior deck on the second floor of the home, officials said.  Crews quickly extinguished the fire, the fire department reported. Five Hospitalized After Two-Vehicle Crash In Connecticut Five people were hospitalized following a two-vehicle crash on I-95 in Fairfield County. Firefighters responded to a report of a crash on I-95 southbound between exits 17 and 16 in Westport at about 5:10 a.m. on Saturday, May 14, according to the Town of Westport Fire Department Officials reported that a vehicle in the northbound lanes had struck the center barrier and traveled into the southbound lanes, where it was struck by a southbound vehicle.
