A jury on Long Island convicted a former NYPD officer in the death of his 8-year-old son who was forced to stay in a freezing garage. Michael Valva, age 43, told authorities that the boy, Thomas Valva, had fallen in the driveway of his home in Center Moriches when he was found dead in the basement at around 9:40 a.m. Friday, Jan. 17, 2020. Man Dies From Injuries After Being Struck By Separate SUVs In NY Crash Involving CT Resident
A man who was struck by two SUVs after allegedly running out in front of the first vehicle on Long Island has died from his injuries. The incident took place in Flanders around 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25, on Route 105. According to Lt. Five people were found dead inside a Long Island home following a massive fire overnight. The blaze broke out around 10:40 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, at a three-story Riverhead residence located at 46 East 2nd St., said the Suffolk County Police. Woman Jumps Into Sea Lion Tank At Aquarium In New York
A woman was taken to an area hospital after jumping into the sea lion tank at the Long Island Aquarium. The incident took place around 2 p.m. Monday, May 17 in Suffolk County. Officers were called to the aquarium in Riverhead after the woman jumped into the tank. The woman who was taken into custody was taken to an area hospital for evaluation, the Riverhead Police said.
