Man Playing Game With Toy Guns Arrested After Hitting Milford Police Cruiser, Police Say An 18-year-old Connecticut man was arrested after he hit a police car to get away from officers investigating a shots fired incident. New Haven County resident Eric Johnson-Charles, age 18, of Hamden, was arrested in Milford on Saturday, April 27. The incident began when Milford Police responded to the Holiday Inn Express at 278 Old Gate Lane for a possible “shots fired” call.  When they arrived, a black sedan driven by Johnson-Charles struck a police cruiser and took off at a high speed. Man Riding On Top Of Car Killed In CT Crash, Police Say A 24-year-old man riding on top of a Honda Civic was killed when he fell off the roof causing the vehicle to crash in Connecticut, authorities said. The crash took place around 12:20 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 31 near an I-95 off-ramp in New Haven County.  The man fell off the roof and into the roadway in Milford causing a 29-year-old Fairfield County driver to crash. Trailers Full Of 4,000 Pounds Of Bleach, Vegetables Catch Fire In CT Four tractor-trailers packed full of bleach and vegetables were damaged by fire and one firefighter was taken to the hospital at an area truck stop. The fire began around 1:55 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 17, at the Pilot Travel Center on Old Gate Lane in Milford, said the Milford Fire Department. Responding firefighters found two tractor-trailers on fire and two other trailers nearby.  The diesel fuel in the trucks was also involved in the fire.
