Toxic Fumes Injure 4 During Haz-Mat Incident At CT Business Four employees of a Norwalk building warehouse suffered possible inhalation injuries following an explosion. The incident took place in Norwalk around 2:50 p.m., Thursday, April 13 at a warehouse building located at 16 Muller Ave. The initial call was for an explosion with a chemical release, said Timothy Reardon, deputy chief of the Norwalk Fire Department. Upon arrival, firefighters determined all workers had self-evacuated the building. Explosive and toxic vapors were found within the building in a confined area, Reardon said. Pedestrian Struck, Killed On I-95 Stretch In Fairfield County A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle on a stretch of I-95 in Fairfield County overnight. The incident happened in Norwalk on the northbound side between exits 15 and 16 at around 10 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 16, according to Norwalk Police. In addition to Norwalk Police, Norwalk EMS, the Norwalk Fire Department and Connecticut State Police responded.  More details, including the identity of the victim, have not yet been released.
