CT Resident Who Made Mark In Real Estate, Automobile, Insurance Industries Dies A Connecticut resident who grew up in Westchester County and worked in insurance, automobiles, and real estate over the course of his career has died at the age of 78. Fairfield County resident Kurt Hothorn Jr., of Greenwich, died at Greenwich Hospital on Friday, Sept. 23, according to his obituary. He was born in New York City and raised in Scarsdale, his obituary said.  Hothorn graduated from Concordia Prep, and he went on to study at Valparaiso University in Indiana. Mother Of 3 Among Dead Following Wrong-Way Crash In CT Two people are dead, including a mother of three, after a wrong-way driver triggered a chain reaction crash in Fairfield County. The wreck happened at around 8:30 p.m. Sunday, July 24, on Route 8 in Bridgeport, according to Connecticut State Police. Troopers said a Ford van was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes when it struck another vehicle head-on near the Main Street exit. The impact killed 41-year-old Monica Wilson, of Westport, police said. Two children in Wilson’s car suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Lay-Offs At MassMutual Coming In December MassMutual has plans to layoff more than 80 workers from one of its Connecticut offices. In a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) letter to the state by Amy Dias Mass Mutual’s head of human resources consulting and talent management, Mass Mutual says it will layoff 82 workers at its Enfield facility on Bright Meadow Boulevard.
