The incident took place in Hartford County just after midnight on Monday, May 8 at 50 Hillside St. in East Hartford. Diyar Muhammad Hamad, age 24, of Shelton, was killed after Manchester Police responded to the area of Center and Fairview streets for a report of a crash with injuries, said Lt. Harold Clarke Sr., age 57, a veteran of more than 30 years at the Bridgeport fire department, was arrested on Thursday, May 5 in connection with a February event in which he allegedly beat and raped a woman, reportedly along with several other men.
