Suspicious Item Causes Bomb Scare At Connecticut College A suspicious item along a walkway at Connecticut College caused a bomb scare and students to shelter in place. The incident took place in New London County around 8 p.m., Wednesday, March 1, at the college located on Crozireer Drive in New London. New London police and fire personnel responded to the college after receiving information regarding a "suspicious" item on the walking path between the student center and the Plex, said Capt. As for the rest of New England: Vermont has had 34 cases at 8 schools, New Hampshire has had 68 cases at 6 schools, Maine has had 44 cases at 10 schools, and Rhode Island has had 62 cases at 8 schools, according to a New York Times database.
