Suspicious Item Causes Bomb Scare At Connecticut College A suspicious item along a walkway at Connecticut College caused a bomb scare and students to shelter in place. The incident took place in New London County around 8 p.m., Wednesday, March 1, at the college located on Crozireer Drive in New London. New London police and fire personnel responded to the college after receiving information regarding a "suspicious" item on the walking path between the student center and the Plex, said Capt. Connecticut has had 434 cases at 10 schools while neighboring Massachusetts has had 439 cases at 42 schools. As for the rest of New England: Vermont has had 34 cases at 8 schools, New Hampshire has had 68 cases at 6 schools, Maine has had 44 cases at 10 schools, and Rhode Island has had 62 cases at 8 schools, according to a New York Times database.
