Brush Fire Torches 11 Acres At Former Landfill In Region Firefighters from several departments helped contain an 11-acre brush fire that occurred in Hampshire County Tuesday, the Massachusetts Department of Fire Services said in a release.  Granby firefighters responded to the fire in area of a former landfill at 11 New Ludlow Road around 2:35 p.m. on Tuesday, July 12, the department said.  It was soon brought to multiple alarms and required help from several neighboring departments and statewide task forces. Granby Fire Chief Michael O’Neill said the massive blaze was mostly fueled by whipping winds and dry vegetation.  Car 1 and Forestry …

Massive, Days-Long Forest Fire Still Burning In Western Mass Fire crews are back at work on Monday morning, May 17 after spending the weekend battling a massive brush fire that broke out in Berkshire County. On Friday, May 14, a fire was first reported in Williamstown near Henderson Road, prompting a response from area departments as it quickly spread from approximately 180 acres of land to upwards 300 acres as of Sunday, May 16. Brush Fire Breaks Out Encroaching On Boardwalk At CT Park Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish a brush fire at an area park that was encroaching on a boardwalk in Fairfield County. The fire was reported around 1:32 p.m., Friday, March 12, at Oyster Shell Park along the Norwalk River in Norwalk. Engine Company 2 was dispatched to the scene.
