TGI Fridays Closing Newington Locale, 30 Total Eateries Across Northeast TGI Fridays is closing nearly 30 "underperforming" locations across the northeast and will sell eight restaurants to the chain's former CEO, the chain said in a news release. The 27 closures include restaurants in Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. In total, 36 TGI Fridays locations are shutting down nationwide. The company says about 1,000 employees, which represent more than 80% of those impacted, will be offered transfer opportunities. Men's Wearhouse, Jos. A. Bank To Close Up To 500 Stores Men’s Wearhouse and Jos. A. Bank will close up to 500 stores and lay off 20 percent of its corporate workforce, the California-based company has announced.  Massachusetts and Connecticut combined have more than two dozen such stores. The company has not announced a timeline for closure. Although the company is yet to name which stores are subject to closure: Connecticut has Men’s Wearhouses and Jos A.
