One Fifty Central, located in Bristol at 150 Central St., permanently closed on Monday, July 10 after a decade in business, the owners announced on social media.

The decision to close the eatery was made after a series of staff shortages made it difficult for the kitchen to fully operate, the owners said, also adding that they were unable to find competent staffing.

"We knew that we would be unable to open for the foreseeable future without jeopardizing the quality and service our customers deserve," the owners wrote on social media, continuing, "We wish we had the opportunity to stay open for a time to thank everyone and say proper goodbyes, but unfortunately this was the only option."

The restaurant's owners also said that they had been experiencing rising expenses and other difficulties since the COVID-19 pandemic.

Although the closure marks the end of the restaurant's life, the owners made sure to thank their former customers and staff for contributing to the eatery's past success.

"We want to thank all our loyal employees and customers, who always supported 150 Central," they wrote, also saying, "You were all more like a big extension of our Santorso family. Thank you for these past 10 years."

The announcement on social media prompted an outpouring of mournful and supporting comments.

"Thank you for being such a huge part of our family’s celebrations and making us feel so welcome and loved for so many years," commented Stephanie L. of Bristol, who also wrote, "We love your family and will miss seeing everyone tremendously."

"I’m completely saddened to read this news," wrote Jane M. of Bristol, who reflected that the eatery had the "best chicken piccata with extra sauce anywhere!!"

"I will truly miss the wonderful food and great staff," she continued.
