A traffic stop on I-684 led to a felony drug charge for a 27-year-old man who was allegedly in possession of ecstasy, state police said. New York State Police investigators announced the arrest of West Hartford resident Christopher Thai on Monday, who was stopped by state police troopers for a violation of vehicle and traffic law at approximately 8:40 p.m. on May 1 on I-684 in Southeast. Fairfield County Man Sentenced For Burglarizing Home, Fleeing To Russia
A Fairfield County man who fled the country to Russia in an attempt to avoid a burglary charge dating back to an incident in Putnam County in 2014 has been sentenced. Putnam County District Attorney Robert Tendy announced on Wednesday that Sandy Hook resident Anthony Magliocco, 29, has been sentenced to 14 years in state prison after being convicted of first-degree burglary and an additional one to four years for second-degree bail jumping after he broke into a family member’s home in Southeast and menaced his family. New York State Police troopers busted a 54-year-old man who allegedly attempted to flee police by running in the median of I-684 in Southeast and tossing a bag of cocaine. State Police officials announced the arrest of Brooklyn resident Roger Sherwood on Friday, who is facing felony charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance and tampering with evidence. Fairfield County Driver Caught With Cocaine, 30 Grams Of Pot, Police Say
A 30-year-old man is behind bars after a stop on I-684 led to the discovery of both cocaine and marijuana, state police from the Brewster barracks. Troopers conducted a traffic stop of a 2014 Ford Escape on I-684 in Southeast on Tuesday, Feb. 6 at 1:45 a.m. for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law. While interviewing the operator, a strong odor of marijuana was detected, state police said. Further investigation found approximately 30.2 grams of marijuana and 3.7 grams of cocaine.
