Beloved Owner Of Restaurant On Long Island Sound Dies
Beloved Westchester restaurant owner John Ambrose died suddenly on Monday, Sept. 16 at the age of 65. Ambrose, a Rye resident, co-owned the Pier Restaurant and Tiki Bar at Playland Park in the Long Island Sound and the former Seaside Johnnie's at Rye Town Park. Rye Town Park Announces Its Summer Concert Series
Rye Town Park is hosting a series of seven free concerts at the park’s south pavilion this summer. The concerts feature the music of high quality, local-area bands playing a wide range of popular music ideal for singing and/or dancing along. The concerts will be held on Tuesdays starting on June 19. Two rain dates have been set aside in case of severe thunderstorms. Concerts begin at 7:30 p.m. and end about 9 p.m. Admission to the concerts is free. Regular parking fees apply.
