Tractor-Trailer Crash Causes Heavy Delays On I-84 Stretch This story has been updated. There were heavy delays during the morning commute on a stretch of I-84 after a tractor-trailer crashed off the roadway. The left lane was closed for several hours on the westbound side in Northern Fairfield County at Exit 3 in Danbury at Route 7 south starting around 6 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18. Route 7 was accessible but down to one lane.  Motorists were advised to use caution in the area, the Danbury Fire Department said.

Weeks-Long Lane Closures Scheduled On Merritt Parkway A bridge maintenance project on the Merritt Parkway will lead to lane closures and delays for more than a week in Fairfield County. The Connecticut Department of Transportation announced that the nighttime bridge project will take place on the parkway (Route 15) beginning on Monday, Sept. 17 in Norwalk. The closures are expected to take place from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night, from Sept. 17 through Friday, Sept. 28.
