Police Narrowing Down Search Area In Connection With Baby Found Dead In Stamford
A week after a full-term baby was found dead at a Stamford recycling center, police are actively working the case and have reached out to neighboring states for assistance. The baby boy was discovered on Oct. 16, at the City Carting garbage transfer station at Taylor Reed Place by an employee who was sorting materials. At this point in the investigation, the child can only be described as a white or Hispanic male. Investigators have narrowed down several locations where recycling materials came from in which the body of a full-term newborn baby boy was found dead by an employee at a garbage carting facility in Stamford early Tuesday morning. Fire Breaks Out At Recycling Center In Stamford
Flames broke out in a large pile of garbage at the Stamford recycling center that was packed to rafters with refuse waiting to be moved. Firefighters received the call for a large pile of burning garbage at the station, located at 61 Taylor Reed Place, around 3:22 a.m. Thursday, said Stamford Fire Capt. Philip Hayes. When firefighters arrived they found the unoccupied building was filled almost to capacity with refuse awaiting to be transferred out to another station, Hayes said.
