Stratford Man Pleads Guilty To Fraud After Filing For Bankruptcy 8 Times STRATFORD, Conn. — A 44-year-old Stratford man is facing up to five years behind bars after pleading guilty Monday to federal charges of bankruptcy fraud, prosecutors said.  Darryll Harmon waived his right to be indicted and pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Victor A. Bolden in Bridgeport to one count of bankruptcy fraud. Man Charged With Making Prank Call About A Murder To New Canaan Bank NEW CANAAN, Conn. — A 21-year-old New Britain man was arrested after he made what he called a "prank call" to a New Canaan bank reporting that a murder had occurred, police said.  Cory J. Roath turned himself in to police on Thursday, Dec. 14, and was charged with second-degree harassment.  Roath left a "harassing" voicemail message for an employee of a Wells Fargo Bank in New Canaan at 10:45 a.m. Oct. 17, according to police. Circuit Issues In Stamford Causing Big Train Delays On Metro-North Update: Metro-North trains were running on or close to schedule by Monday evening. FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — The evening commute home on Monday is a slow one for train riders on the New Haven Line of Metro-North.  The commuter railroad is reporting delays of up to to 50 minutes on the New Haven Line due to circuit issues in the vicinity of Stamford, Metro-North said via social media.  It is also causing delays of 30 minutes for the New Canaan Branch and up to 55 minutes on the Danbury Branch, Metro-North said.

Flu Outbreak In Connecticut Now Considered 'Widespread' As flu cases continue to rise across the state, the outbreak for Connecticut has been classified as "widespread," according to the State Department of Public Health.  Connecticut is one of 12 states with widespread flu activity. As of Dec. 9, a total of 254 people had tested positive for the flu — up from 197 the previous week.  The state reported that 98 people have been hospitalized with the flu so far this season, and one flu-associated death has been reported in Connecticut. Tree Truck Crashes Into Cass Gilbert Fountain In Ridgefield RIDGEFIELD, Conn. — A tree service truck hit and damaged the beloved Cass Gilbert Fountain in Ridgefield on Monday morning, according to the Ridgefield Press. One window pane on the glass covering was broken, several flower pots around the base were smashed and some holiday decorations were scattered, the Press said.  The truck was pulling a chipper when it hit the fixture on Main Street, the Press said.
