Bullet Found At Derby High School; No Threat To Students DERBY, Conn. -- A bullet was found in the library of Derby High School on Wednesday, prompting officials to lockdown the school as a precaution, according to the Valley Independent Sentinel. Police stressed that there was no active threat to the school or public, and the lockdown was placed as a precaution, according to the Sentinel. Police Seek Suspects Who Stole Credit Cards From Trumbull Mailboxes TRUMBULL, Conn. -- Police are searching for suspects believed to have bought items using credit cards that were stolen from the mailboxes of Trumbull residents.Police said they received several reports of credit cards stolen from mailboxes of town residents. Man Selling $1,000 Sneakers Gets Robbed In Stamford STAMFORD, Conn. — A man who tried to sell three pairs of sneakers worth $1,000 ended up receiving fake cash and a beating during an exchange in Stamford, according to the Stamford Advocate. Car Windows Smashed In Parking Lot Of Wilton Gym WILTON, Conn. -- Someone smashed the windows of two cars parked at a gym in Wilton this weekend in apparent burglary attempts, according to police. Ripka's Giving Trees Celebrates The Season While Supporting Norwalk Groups NORWALK, Conn. -- Families found their perfect Christmas tree while supporting a number of Norwalk organizations, as Ripka's Giving Tree wrapped up its first annual event. Ripka's Giving Tree was held on Dec. 2 at Ripka's Beach Café at Calf Pasture Beach in Norwalk. More than 50 trees, wreaths and decorations were unloaded. Raid Of Bridgeport Man's Home Nets More Than A Pound Of Heroin BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Police found more than a pound of heroin and nearly a quarter pound of cocaine during a raid of a Bridgeport man's home, according to the Connecticut Post. Trumbull Man Charged In Fatal Crash In 2016 TRUMBULL, Conn. -- A 40-year-old man was charged in connection with a fatal crash in Trumbull last December, according to the Trumbull Times. The accident took place on Dec. 18, 2016 at the intersection of Madison Avenue and Walnut Avenue, the Trumbull Times reported. Greenwich Fire Department Welcomes New Fire Marshal GREENWICH, Conn. -- Greenwich welcomed a new fire marshal and recognized other members of the Fire Department for their years of service on Tuesday.Chris Pratico was sworn in as the new fire marshal at a ceremony at fire headquarters on Tuesday morning. Three Arrested In Prostitution Bust In Greenwich GREENWICH, Conn. — Three people were arrested in a prostitution bust at a massage parlor in Greenwich last week, according to Greenwich Patch. Jury Finds Bridgeport Man Not Guilty In 2015 Murder BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — A 58-year-old Bridgeport man was found not guilty of murder in a 2015 stabbing death on Fairfield Avenue, according to the Connecticut Post. A jury found Wilfredo Ortiz not guilty on Monday after deliberating for about an hour, the Connecticut Post reported. Ortiz had been charged with the stabbing death of Erick Lopez, 32, on Sept. 1, 2015.
