Legion Shocks Top Ranked Team

It turns out the Greenwich Legion senior team still had a few tricks up its sleeve. Greenwich dominated the top-seeded team in the state tournament, RCP, winning 11-6 on Sunday. Greenwich stayed alive in the losers'  bracket and eliminated RCP.

Ricky Riscica had a huge day at the plate going 4-for-5 with four RBI. Andrew Coffee and Greg Bayliss both had two-run doubles on the day. Will Colombo allowed just two hits in seven innings pitched. RCP plated three runs in the eighth to cut the lead to five, but Brendon Harden finished the game off.

Greenwich faces another must-win situation against Niantic today in Torrington. Listen to all the Legion Connecticut state tournament action on the Connecticut American Legion Baseball website.
