GREENWICH, Conn. - Annabelle Galef, a Greenwich Academy junior, has been selected as one of only two girls from the United States to represent their schools at an international conference in Australia.
At the Student Leadership Conference in Sydney from Jan. 18 to Jan. 22, Galef will join 149 other students from schools in Australia, New Zealand and Singapore.
The Global Scholar Program, an extension of Greenwich Academys Duff Center, was launched in spring 2010. The program requires international travel.
Galef was co-editor of the Linguist, the schools multilingual journal, now in its second year of publication. Galef also traveled to India with Duff Center co-director Connie Blunden last summer, partnering with the Akanksha Foundation and Teach for India to study educational challenges and reform movements there.
