Woman Charged With Identity Theft in Greenwich

GREENWICH, Conn. – A 23-year-old Maryland woman was charged Friday in Greenwich with trying to withdraw nearly $10,000 from a bank account that was not her own, police said.

Police responded to Chase Bank on Greenwich Avenue on a report that Zonia Murray, of 3406 Brinkley Road, Apt. 103, Temple Hills, Md., had tried to withdraw $9,725 from another person’s account. Murray allegedly identified herself to officers with a fraudulent New York State driver’s license and Chase bank card. The signed cash withdrawal slip was also forged, police said.

Murray was arrested on charges of forgery, criminal impersonation, identity theft, unlawful reproduction of a credit card, interfering with an officer and criminal attempt.

She is being held on a $10,000 bond and was due in court Monday.
