Report: Greenwich Accountant Charged In Madoff Ponzi Scheme

GREENWICH, Conn. -- Federal officers arrested a Greenwich accountant and charged him with helping Bernie Madoff recruit new victims into his Ponzi scheme, the New York Daily News reported. 

Paul Konigsberg, 77, surrendered to FBI agents on Thursday morning and pleaded not guilty to charges of conspiracy, falsifying financial records and lying to federal agents about employee benefits, according the the Daily News.

Kongisberg claims he and his family lost $10 million in the Ponzi scheme and said he was an unknowing victim of Madoff's, not an accomplice, the Daily News reported.
