Constantino Faria of Greenwich was arrested around 9 p.m. Monday after officers were called to a report of a father and son arguing over stolen money, said Lt. John Slusarz.

According to Slusarz, Faria's father wanted officers to speak with his son and retrieve the stolen money when he refused to obey officers' requests, and then engaged in a physical assault, the arrest report said.

When officers attempted to arrest him he "began throwing punches at the officer’s head, connecting several times to the top of officer’s head and shoulder," the arrest report said.

Once on the ground, Faria continued to try and throw punches.

He was charged with assault on a police officer.

Bail was set at $1,500.
