Greenwich Honors Officers' Efforts In Arrest Of Sex Offender

GREENWICH, CONN. -- Greenwich Police Officers Alan C. Pesce and Aran J. Santilli are being recognized by the department for their efforts to apprehend a sex offender and rescue a 15-year-old Cos Cob girl.

Both officers are the Officer of the Month for February, the department announced in a Facebook post. Though the man has a long criminal history using different names and no known address, the officers were able to track him down in White Plains, officials said

They coordinated with the White Plains department on the arrest. The man is being held in Weschester County jail awaiting extradition to Connecticut, police said.

"Both Officer Pesce and Santilli demonstrated initiative and investigative aptitude, and I commend them both for their professionalism and dedication to duty," Greenwich Police Chief Jim Heavey said. "Their actions bring great credit to our department and on the behalf of the community, I thank them for a job well done."
