Christopher Wright, 56, Formerly Of Greenwich

GREENWICH, Conn. – Christopher George Wright of Tampa, Fla., and formerly of Greenwich, died Sunday, Sept. 2, after a brief illness. He was 56. 

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at Springfield Cemetery in Springfield, Mass.

He was born Feb. 22, 1956, to Ivy and George Wright. He grew up in Greenwich and attended Greenwich High School before joining the Navy. Wright was assigned to a flight crew that flew missions over enemy territory during the Vietnam War. He was stationed in Guam and Rota, Spain, for four years and received an honorable discharge in 1978. 

After his return to the U.S., Wright worked for Sikorsky Aircraft, designing and installing electrical systems in Black Hawk helicopters. He also worked as a consultant for several companies, including Ballamois, Diebold and most recently, Northrop Grumman. 

Wright is survived by his mother, Ivy Wright, of Enfield; a son, Brian Wright, and his partner, Serena Coughlin, of Mashpee, Mass.; his former wife, Dawn Wright, of Falmouth, Mass.; two sisters, Janet Wright and Pauline (Natale) Caminiti, of Enfield; and several nieces and nephews.
